I've just started a week long interview on the Well with Scott Rosenberg, co-founder of Salon, ringleader of the Salon blogs experiment, and author of Dreaming in Code:
Who's your 'blog crush' on Vox?
Well... Tom Coates is pretty cute. So's Mena. But they're both taken, damn! Oh, I guess I'm taken too. So... no problem.
What is the use case for me hanging out here on Vox? I've got friends here, sure. I'd like to keep up with them. I'm already neglecting my other blogs for the most part. I need to consolidate, not spread out further. I think it's time to retire Radio Free Blogistan, archive it, and point it to my personal blog. I think I need to freeze The Power of Many as an archive about the book and point people again to my personal blog. I'll probably keep Edgewise since other people are actively posting there. Memewatch is moribund and I've always got my delicious feed if I want to do linklogging. Memewatch.com is a great domain name and deserves something better, as does Mediajunkie. I'm thinking of setting up a Squarespace site at Telegraph but then I realize I don't really have the energy or time to manage a new zine and I'm not sure I could convince any of my busy friends or acquaintances to contribute anyway.
What does that leave? X-POLLEN, which people confuse with xianlandia (a/k/a wake up!), understandable, and A Supposedly Staggering Infinite Work of Heartbreaking Illumination I'll Never Read, which I'm inclined to keep as my fiction-writing sandbox. Another moribund one is Uncle John's Blog... just not enough happening in Deadland to keep that one active.
At least I will be dropping Extra! Extra! off my list in a few weeks, but that's another story.
